Bosch Ulwazi’s EIT programme continues to grow from strength to strength with their Annual EIT Conference becoming a high profile, must attend event for those on the programme.
The conference provides an opportunity for the EITs to showcase the practical knowledge and experience they have gained to their peers, colleagues, mentors, company management and Clients. A panel of experts comprising a Toastmaster and professionally registered mentors, assess the presentations. Last year 13 EITs took part with the top three places for best presentation / presenter taken by Manditha Beeharilal (Bosch Stemele), Hlulile Mkhonta (RSSC) and Kimendree Naidoo (Bosch Ulwazi).
The EIT programme’s goal is to allow candidates to develop their practical engineering competency to meet the Engineering Council of South Africa’s (ECSA) requirements for professional registration over a period of three years from graduation. Programme content includes the following:
- Induction and orientation
- Quality management system
- Basic training
- Site exposure
- Introduction to projects
- Project resources skills
- Planning
- Design and drawing
- Cost engineering
- Quality engineering
- Procurement
- Commissioning and handover
On completion of the programme the EIT will have a comprehensive Portfolio of Evidence that will assist the EIT’s submission to ECSA for professional status.
